Introducción

In this week of May 25 to 29, students will continue with the readings of week 2(Monday to Wednesday) and will begin with the content for week 3, vocabulary and grammar (Thursday & Friday). The aim for this week is to connect the story of week 2, The Mystery of St. Matthew Island, with the topic of Unit 6, the Unexpected, and how unexpected effects can humans have on nature.

Tarea

During the sessions

Monday the 25th, Students will read the stories that prepare them for the Story of the week in Pearson. T will play the story of the week (1st read).

Tuesday the 26th, Students will read the Story The Mystery of St. Matthew Island in Pearson (2nd read). Focus in the main idea and details.

Wednesday the 27th, Students will read the Paired Selection as well as the brief story in Sleuth. Focus in Accuracy.

Thursday, the 28th, Students need to do the assignments in Pearson Unit 6 Week 3 day 1 and 2. Focus in language, vocabulary, amazing, spelling and challenge words. Workbook p. 409. 411 & 416

Friday, the 29th. Students will watch a video in Pearson Realize (Day 3), play Kahoot about Commas, and answer pp. 410 & 417 in the workbook.

Procesos

In the first session of Monday we're going to review the vocabulary, amazing, spelling and challenge words around the story of The Mystery of St. Matthew Island in Quizlet. In the 2nd session we are going to listen-read the story of The Mystery of St. Matthew Island. In the 3rd session we will discuss around the reading strategies that are used in these stories. 

On Tuesday, Students will read the main story, paragraph by paragraph. Then we are going to answer a reading comprehension questionnaire in Google Questionnaires.

By Wednesday, one session will be to finish reading the paired selection, "City Hawks". Then we'll also listen to the story in Sleuth, "Train Your Dog". If time allows we'll play Quizlet Live with language from Unit 6 week 3.

On Thursday we are going to learn the vocabulary, amazing, spelling and challenge words for week 3 in Pearson, Quizlet and the workbook (pp. 409, 411, 416). T plays the videos for week 3 (Qustion of the week & reading comprehension skills)

By Friday we will study the grammar lesson of week 2, use of commas (for readers to make pauses or for the author to clarify concepts). T plays the video for this week and sets up a Kahoot game. Hopefully we conclude doing pp. 410 & 417 in the workbook.
