I will assess students´ knowledge of unit 4 and have a relaxing day before going onto the Easter holidays. In the 2nd week of April, we will begin with unit 5 content.

Apr 13-16, begin with Unit 5 content, Big Question, general overview of stories and topic as well as first part of Week 1 content.

Get T. Dicia's help in order to do the assigned 3 activities:  p. 310, p. 311, and the week 5 test online, one exercise per session.

Actividad Estudiante

Answer pages 310-311 as a class, ask for help  to T. Dicia, then answer the week 5 test online.

Propósito

Check out the answers to week 5 review pages in the workbook, answer the week 5 test and then solve the Unit 4 Test in Savvas Realize.

Actividad Docente

T opens an assignment in Google Classroom for Ss to answer the Unit 4 test in Savvas Realize. T provides input, suggestions and tips for Ss to answer individually and without saying their answer publicly.

Actividad Estudiante

Open the assignment, read the stories and the instructions, answer the questions, get feedback from teacher. Send out the test.

Propósito

Assess spelling words and conventions of Unit 4 through a LiveWorksheet assignment.

Provide the link and/or the assignment for Ss to open the Liveworksheet exercises to assess their knowledge of Unit 4, explain any instruction or section that is confussing for the Ss, help as required.

Open and read the instructions for Unit 4 asssessment tool, answer as best as possible. Ask T for help as needed.

Provide feedback for Ss assessment of Unit 4

T opens the Liveworksheet tool and answers it as a class. Provides feedback as required, help as needed.

Participate in sharing the answers they put in their test, make questions to clarify some of the excercises or answers.

Relaxing Day as a group

Actividad Docente

T opens or provides the link to an Escape Room about Spring, Easter traditions, helps as needed.

Actividad Estudiante

Open the Escape Room, look out for the right answers, open up new challenges, participate actively in the search for answers.

Propósito

Share any significant experiences from the Easter holidays. Then brief Ss about the general content of Unit 5, begin with the content of week 1.

Actividad Docente

T makes some open questions about the Ss experience of the Easter holidays, congratulates Ss in their use of English, tries to get as much info as possible that can be used in classes later on. T shares cover pages about Unit 5 content, Big Question video and overview of the 5 stories. T shares the cover pages for week 1 content, video, question of the week and vocabulary and spelling words.

Participate in the sharing of experiences during the Easter holidays, in English, watch the images, videos and initial pages of Unit 5, predict content and topic.

Propósito

Review of vocabulary and spelling words, learn or practice week 1's reading skills, Read Main selection (story of the week).

3 sessions of 40 mins each on Wednesday, April 14th

Actividad Docente

Practice spelling words orally, lead students in repeating the spelling words in different tunes, then review the vocabulary words through the vocabulary cards in Savvas. Review comprension and vocabulary skills through video. Project main selection through Savvas and make comprension questions at the end. 

Actividad Estudiante

Repeat spelling words in the different tunes proposed by the teacher, participate in Quizlet live, then listen to the main story and make the vocabulary activities in Savvas.

Propósito

Practice spelling words, read paired selection and study the convetions for week 1.

Duración

3 sessions of 40 mins each on Thursday, April 15th

Actividad Docente

Lead students in repeating the spelling words in different tunes. Help them detect comprehension skills this time with the paired selection. Assist students in learning about adjectives and articles, through Kahoot and workbook.

Actividad Estudiante

Practice spelling words orally, read the paired selection with attention, answer Kahoot as well as the pages about conventions in the workbook.

Review of Unit 5 week 1 (spelling words, conventions, weekly test)

Duración

2 sessions of 40 mins each on Friday, April 16th

Actividad Docente

Set up a Quizlet live, solve pages 320 & 325, about multisyllabic words, then play Kahoot, and videos for students to review the contents of the first week of unit 5. Lead and help students as they answer the weekly test.

Actividad Estudiante

Participate in the spelling words and grammar games, answer pages from the workbook, watch videos and answer the weekly test.
