In this week of April 20 to 24 students will get ready to get involved in another story that sums up to the Unit topic of Adventurers. In this week, the story, "Journey to the Center of the Earth", will require students to fine tune their skills in cause and effect, as well as summarize. They will find vocabulary with figurative language, comparative and superlative adjectives and will handle spelling words that have Latin roots. At the end of the week I will check in their differenciation between science versus fiction and the way they handle unfamiliar words and/or context clues. As you may know, the writing task is being substituted by an oral challenge during this contingency time.

- Tuesday-April 21, 2020:
- Work on pages 349, 350, and 351 of the Reader's and Writer's NB.
- Writing product: use the vocabulary words from page 351 to invent a 10 lines story about a journey to the center of the Earth. Write the story in your notebook. Add a colored frame to your story. Take a picture of your story and upload it to ClassDojo; you will have the chance to upload it until Friday.

- Pearson Realize assignment: Grammar Jammer: Adjectives. UNIT 5-WEEK 4-DAY 3.
- Work on pages 352, 353, and 355 of the Reader's and Writer's NB.
- Thursday-April 23, 2020:
- Work on pages 356, 357, 358, and 359 of the Reader's and Writer's NB.
- Finish your writing product (story about a journey to the center of the Earth). You will have to record yourselves while reading the story. Create a video in your tablet or your parents' cellphone and upload it to ClassDojo.
- Study for your Spelling Test.
- Friday-April 24th, 2020:
- Upload the photo of your writing product (story about a journey to the center of the Earth) to ClassDojo.
- Remember to record yourself reading the writing product (story about a journey to the center of the Earth) and upload it to ClassDojo.
- Solve the Spelling Test on EdModo.
