4th A ELL March 8 to 19

Descripción

 I will assess students´ activities during my absence both in Savvas as well as in Classroom. I will also cover the contents for Unit 4 week 5 and then, we  will go over the review lessons with exercises for the spelling words, the conventions as well as the weekly tests for the whole of unit 4.

Objetivos

Assess students´ work during my absence, help students cover all the main elements of week 5, where students will understand that cases are settled in court, using logic, formal investigations and proven by evidence.

During the review week, students will have more clues as to answer the big question of unit 4: Is there an explanation for everything? At the same time, students´ target will be to review spelling words, conventions and comprehension skills.

Propósito

Review students´ achievements during the days where T. Dicia assisted my group during my permission.

Duración

3 sessions of 40 minutes each on Monday, March 8th.

Actividad Docente

Work out with the students the contents of week 5. T. Dicia shared with them the vocabulary words, the spelling words and the story of the week.

Actividad Estudiante

Participate in the opening activities to guess and predict content for week 5. Practice the spelling words and read the story of the week.

Propósito

Unit 4 week 5, vocabulary, comprehension skills, spelling words.

Duración

3 sessions of 40 minutes each on Tuesday, March 9th.

Actividad Docente

Practice spelling words orally, lead students in repeating the spelling words in different tunes, then review the vocabulary words through the vocabulary cards in Savvas. Review comprension and vocabulary skills through video. Project main selection through Youtube and make comprension questions at the end. 

Actividad Estudiante

Repeat spelling words in the different tunes proposed by the teacher, participate in Quizlet live, then listen to the main story and make the vocabulary activities in Savvas.

Propósito

Unit 4 week 5 Main selection, 1st read, conventions, comprehension skills.

Duración

3 sessions of 40 minutes each on Wednesday, March 10th.

Actividad Docente

Lead students in repeating the spelling words in different tunes. Help them detect comprehension skills this time with the paired selection. Assist students in learning about contractions and negatives, through Kahoot and workbook.

Actividad Estudiante

Practice spelling words orally, read the paired selection with attention, answer Kahoot as well as the pages about conventions in the workbook.

Propósito

Unit 4 week 5 conventions, main selection, 2nd read, meet the author, paired selection.

Duración

3 sessions of 40 minutes each on Thursday, March 11th.

Actividad Docente

Review conventions through the video and a kahoot, then lead students in retelling the main selection, and finally share more info about the author and other books from Encyclopedia Brown.

Actividad Estudiante

Watch the video about the conventions, play the kahoot, make questions. Participate in the retelling of the story and get more info about other stories from the same author/character.

Propósito

Unit 4 Week 6, review of week 1 (spelling words, conventions, weekly test) and part of week 2 (spelling words).

3 sessions of 40 minutes each on Tuesday, March 16th.
