FOCUS 2 February 8th to 19th

In this first half of unit 5 we will develop various lessons always around the topic of the school. From the first grammar lesson, first conditional, up to the 2nd grammar lesson, relative clauses, students will listen and read conversations about students who want to study in college/university and/or take a gap year before they continue with their education. 

Objetivos

Feb 8th to 12th

Grammar: Students will be able to use the first conditional to talk about the possible results of an action.

Listening, they will identify specific details in short a conversation.

as for Reading, they will identify specific details in an article.

Feb 15th to 18th

Students will learn to use relative clauses to give more information. 

In the speaking lesson, they will give opinions, and agree or disagree with other's opinions.

Apply a vocabulary game through Quizlet/word bingo/charades/or skribbl, monitor Ss' work on the exercises of p. 78-79, set up breakout rooms as needed. Oversee Ss' answers of p. 78-79

Participate in the vocabulary exercise/game, answer the exercises of p. 78-79, share answers aloud, correct any mistakes and practice in the activity book.

Propósito

Solve p. 79 and Word Store 5A to 5C, play grammar game, and answer exercises in Myenglishlab 5.2. Finish with the grammar quizes in Liveworksheets.

Use a vocabulary game to start with, then monitor Ss work on p. 79, make teams to play the grammar game and then assign exercises in Myenglishlab. Assess Ss knowledge through the grammar quizes.

Participate in the vocabulary game, solve p. 79 in the book and the assigned exercises in Myenglishlab, as well as the grammar quizes in Liveworksheets.

Propósito

Apply lesson 5.3. listening, where students have to identify specific details in a conversation about how to deal with stress previous to an exam.

Set Ss to solve exercises 1 to 7, T plays audios for Ss to do exercises 2 & 7.Send Ss into pair work (breakout rooms) for them to do exercise 8. Solve exercise 9, WordStore 5D, as a class.

Answer pages 80 & 81 in pair or individual, as set by the teacher. Correct as a class, as needed. 

Propósito

Finish the listenting lesson in Myenglishlab, then begin with the Reading lesson 5.4 in the activity book.

T sets exercises 5.3 in MyEnglishLab, monitor and offer help as requested.

T asks Ss to brainstorm the content of the article in p. 82. Ss work in activity 2 to 6, p. 83, individually, check answers as a class. Set up pairs of Ss to do the next exercise as well as the Word Store 5E. T sets a Quizlet Live for Ss to practice some of the vocabulary needed to answer the Word Store activity. Select random Ss to participate in the checking of the activities.

Answer the activities in MyEnglishLab, 5.3. Answer the activities in the book, p. 82-83, including the Word Store 5E, participate actively in pairs when required and in class when correcting the exercises.

Propósito

Practice the Reading lesson doing the exercises 5.4 in MyEnglishLab, Reading activities. Wrap up the week.

First, apply a vocabulary game through Quizlet/word bingo/charades/or skribbl. Ss work individually, answer activities 1 to 4, then watch the video lesson. After that, Ss solve exercise 5 & 6 in pairs, as well as the Grammar Focus on p. 148. Check as a class. Finally, set up 2 groups for them to play the grammar game (boys vs. girls).

Play the vocabulary and grammar games, participate actively in the individual, pair and whole group exercises, as well as in the whole class review. Answer pages 84, 85 and 148.

Lead the plan of classes, assist students to get into Quizlet live, assign the activities 5.5 in MyEnglishLab. Set a Kahoot game to practice the lesson.

Propósito

Set up the grammar quiz in Liveworksheets, Google Forms as well as in Kahoot. Monitor Ss progress in all of the quizes. Lead Ss in answering pages 86 & 87, Speaking.
