In these first 2 weeks of November we will continue working in Unit 2, Teamwork, developing reading skills, language and conventions as marked by the ELL program.
Unit 2 Week 3, What can teams accomplish? In this week, Students will understand that teams set different goals, use practice, strategy, and teamwork, try to reach goals, and face obstacles.
Unit 2 Week 4, How can people and animals work as a team? In this week students will understand that animal helpers help people, may help with several jobs, and need certain qualities.

Objetivos
Mondays are used to open the works and activities of the week, focus is on developing vocabulary and reading skills.
On Tuesdays we continue developing language skills through the brief analysis of short readings where we use reading strategies, and we usually begin with the story of the week. Focus is on reading comprehension
As of Wednesdays we complete the story of the week and then we study the conventions lesson for the week.
On Thursdays we review the spelling words, the conventions and the reading skills. We also read the paired selection and prepare the writing task.
On Fridays we evaluate the vocabulary, conventions, check on the writing task and assess the students' reading skills.

Proceso
MONDAY, November 9th. First, play scribble.io with vocabulary words from Unit 1 week 4. Show the video and discuss on elements they can remember. Students' Book p. 256-257
Second, work in the language needed for week 4, first the amazing words through the weekly video, then the vocabulary and spelling words. Use the Pearson portal and Quizlet to learn pronunciation, meaning and practice these words.
Third, let them solve the vocabulary activities. Set up a 4 column chart in the notebook (rainbow letters, crazy letters, abc, bubble words, etc
WEDNESDAY, November 11th
Practice spelling words with a game in Quizlet. Play Kahoot about grammar lesson (diagnostic phase).
Then learn about the conventions for this week --singular possessive nouns-- through video (grammar). Workbook, conventions (grammar pages).
Main selection, Horse Heroes, 2nd read. Retell the story of the week.
THURSDAY, November 12th
Practice spelling words with a game in Quizlet.
Paired Selection of the Week, "Riding the Pony Express," connect to the main selection as well as to the question of the week.
Writing Task, an expository composition. Workbook, p. 143, Student's Book p. 276-277
TUESDAY, November 10th
Practice vocabulary and spelling words with a game in Quizlet. Workbook, vocabulary & spelling words pages.
Then learn about the reading skills --Fact and Opinion & Monitor and Clarify--, for this week through video and short readings from Savvas. Workbook, reading skills pages.
Story of the Week, Horse Heroes, 1st read. Listen and read.
FRIDAY, November 13th
Spelling Words Test (dictation). Review consonant pairs ng, nk, ph, wh.
Review conventions (singular possessive nouns) and play Kahoot (quiz phase).
Review Listening & Speaking skills
Review writings from volunteers (friendly letter)
TUESDAY, November 3rd, First, play word bingo with spelling words from Unit 2 Week 3. Show the weekly video and discuss on elements they can remember. Discuss and/or predict content through the images on Student's Book pp. 228-229

Review conventions (irregular plural nouns) and play Kahoot (quiz phase).
Review Story of the Week, students play as the characters, reading aloud.
THURSDAY, November 5th. Practice spelling words with a game in Quizlet. Play Kahoot about grammar lesson (diagnostic phase).
Then learn about the conventions for this week --complete subjects and predicates-- through video (grammar). Workbook, conventions (grammar pages).
Story of the Week, 2nd read. Play out the story in Youtube (Teacher Malo). Paired Selection of the Week, "Home" and "Front Porch", poems.
