• Apply Pathway to Science diagnostic test.

Actividad Docente

Teacher activities: apply a diagnostic science test (drive) to know and evaluate the knowledge obtained in the previous school year. guide the students through the test.

Actividad Estudiante

Students activities: They will answer the diagnostic science test as indicated in the instructions. They will ask for help if they need it.

Teacher activites:

Session 1

Phonics: Read together the first bullet on page 14 in the students edition. Model the sound of each word, watch and listen as children produce the sound.

Display spelling card 15 and point to the letter M, introduce capital and lowercase letter M and how to write them.

Session 2

Reading (comprehension): T will play a story for students, then will present the characters of that story.

Print awareness: t will present words to students, so they identify their sounds.

Session 3

Math: t will show a video of numbers up to 9, then will display a table with numbers 1 to 9 and ask ss to identify them.

Students activities: 

Session 1

Phonics: students and teacher will complete Reder's and Writer's Notebook on p.1, teacher will name each image and students will identify the ones that have the M sound. Then, students will trace capital and lower case letter M on p.3

Session 2

Reading (comprehension): students will disscuss about the characters of the story, what they did, how they felt, etc. Then, T will ask a volunteer to tell their favorite story, toghether, ss will identify the characters of that story and draw them in their Reader's and Writer's notebook p. 2.

Print awareness: students will identify the words in their book p. 4 and circle them.

Session 3

Math: students will identify numbers 1 to 9, then together will complete digital book pages 8-9.

Session 1

Phonics: teacher will present letter s and its sound, then will play a video of the letter s sound.

Session 2

Language: teacher will play a video of nouns, then will show different images of nouns and ss will identify if they are people, animals or things.

Session 3

Math: teacher will ask randomly to identify numbers 1 to 9, students who identify the numbers will get an extra point.

Phonics: students will produce the letter s sound, then will try to say words that have the beginig s sound, finally, will complete book page 5 and 7.

Session 2

Language: students will identify nouns, between people, animals or things, then will complete book page 6.

print awareness: when students complete book page 6, will identify the words in page 8 and circle them,

Session 3

Math: ss will identify number 1 to 9 and complete book pages 10 and 11.

language: teacher will ask students to brainstorm about nouns.

math: teacher will play a numbers song, then present groups of things and students will identify the number of each group.

phonics: students will identify in page 9 the images of the words that begin with the T sound, then will complete page 12.

Session 2

language: students will identify the nouns in book page 11 and complete 3 sentences using them.

vocabulary: students will complete the sentences on page 10 using the new words.

Session 3

math: students will match the group to the correct number, then, will write in their notebooks the numbers 1 to 9 in ascending and descending order.
