This is the planning project for the first part of trimester 1 of the school year. As part of the contents, we will work with the subjects of Mathematics, Science, Civics and Ethics, Social and Emotional Development, Geography and History.

Objetivos

Our objectives are linked to the learning outcomes that are part of each subject. By now, these will be mentioned in a general way according to the units main aim. During the first two weeks of the trimester, we will be working with icebreaker dynamics and the baseline tests.
  • Mathematics (Pathway to Math 6):
    • Unit 1: Work with angles and polygons.

    • Unit 2: Calculate the area and volume of 3D shapes.

    • Unit 3: Work with data, measuring tendencies and percentages.

  • Science (SEP program):
    • Keep a healthy life style.

    • Identify the body functions.

    • Understand the basis of genetics and safe sexual reproduction.

    • Identify the main aspects related to the evolution of living beings on Earth.

    • Develop environmental protection actions.

  • Geography (SEP program):
    • Analyze and interpret the different graphic representations of the Earth.

    • Value the natural diversity on Earth.

  • History (SEP program):
    • Locate in a temporal and spatial way prehistory, the origin of the first human beings, the settlement of the continents and the process of sedentarization.

  • Civics and Ethics (SEP program):
    • Understand the main aspects related to the transition from childhood to adolescence.

    • Practice and develop self-care habits.

  • Social and Emotional Development: (SEP program)
    • Identify the aspects that influence decision making.

    • Analyze that personal limitations are opportunities for growth.

    • Use positive emotions to prevent or compensate  distressing states.

Recursos

Materials required:
A five-division notebook, pens, 2 or more pencils, glue, scissors, white and color paper sheets, construction paper, a geometric set, colors, markers, erasers, and a pencil sharpener. Students need to have all materials and assigned textbooks for class. 

Textbooks:
The textbooks used in this course are Pathway to Math 6, La Guía Santillana 6, and Educación Socioemocional 6.
As a complementary reference resource, a PDF file and a picture are attached with the expected learnings or learning outcomes of the first trimester according to the official 6th grade plan and the Pathway to Math Level 6 program.


 

Requisitos

REQUIREMENTS AND GUIDELINES FOR VIRTUAL CLASSES
  • Punctuality at the beginning of classes; a maximum delay of 5 minutes will be considered.

  • Make the first connection 5 minutes before class time.

  • Avoid the use of caps, glasses, sunglasses or any accessory that obstruct vision.

  • Eating is not allowed during the virtual session (except for natural water).

  • You should not use obscene, foul language or any high-sounding word, which threaten the integrity of any teacher and much less with classmates.

  • Respect for colleagues in every possible area and this also includes for the teacher.

  • Work in a timely manner, as well as in the delivery of works.

  • Keep the discipline during the session (no yelling, singing, whistling, etc.)

  • Avoid sharing inappropriate content.

  • Have on hand what you need to work (notebook, pencil, colors, glue, scissors, etc.)

  • The teacher is the only one authorized to end the session.

  • In case of non-compliance with any of these rules, the parents will be notified and the corresponding sanctions will be applied.


 
CLASS PROTOCOL
  • Show up to class with a uniform shirt.

  • Present yourself clean and already fed.

  • Stay with the camera open during class and focusing your face.

  • Keep the microphone off until receiving instructions from the teacher.

  • Have materials nearby and available.

  • Work in a specific and appropriate place for the class without distractions (no TV, radio, videogames or people yelling or interacting).

  • Limit the use of other devices and focus on the tablet or computer.

  • Identify yourself in the session from the beginning with your name and surname.

  • Request to speak in a way determined by your teacher.
