Introducción

This week you will read, write and talk about natural resources.  The story of the week is called "Gold" we will practice Main idea and details in a story.  Learn the story vocabulary and learn to use the words in sentences.  Practice spelling suffixes - ism, -age, -ure.  Comparative and superlative adjectives.

.DAY 1 ACTIVITIES (LIVE CLASS ONLINE)

1.  QUESTIONS OF THE WEEK. "Ho do we decide the value of different resources?".  The teacher will write their ideas on a Word document the students can see.

2.  VOCABULARY.  The teacher will show the meaning of the words in  (TE 5.243a) for students to write in their notebooks. 

3.  The class will read SUPER SMART (pg 243) to practice in Quizlet and they answer pg 351.

4.  SPELLING PRE-TEST.  The students will take dictation of the spelling words of the week and will check them (find the words pg 353).

5.  CONVENTIONS - comparative and superlative adjectives.  work with transparence 24 

6.  Art project for children's week - make a pinata

 

DAY 2 ACTIVITIES (LIVE CLASS ONLINE)

1.  VOCABULARY strategy UNFAMILIAR WORDS  remind students that they can use context clues to find meanings.  Pg 268 Student Edition.  Read All the Glitters all students read simultaneously.  

2. READING the story of the week "Gold"  from pg 270 - 275.  Expository text.  Answer the 3 questions on pg 270 TE

3.  CONVENTIONS - comperative and superlative adjectives.  Complete R&W pg 352.  

4.  SPELLING suffixes. Complete pg 353 and after students finish, we will share answers to check work.

5.  After all activities are finished, students will practice spelling words (rainbow)

6.  Art project for children's week - make a pinata

DAY 3 ACTIVITIES (LIVE CLASS ONLINE)

1.  READING - continue reading story of the week.  Comprehension check. pg 276 - 280.  Retell story.

2.  CONVENTIONS - practice review let's practice it 277.  Students complete in their notebooks and send in EDMODO.

3. SPELLING -  Complete pg 358 to practice this week's spelling words.

4.  WRITING -  writing tait: sentences pg 283b TE 

5.  Writing a brochure - miniclass pg 275e TE. students complete word web pg 354.

6.  Art project for children's week - make a pinata

DAY 4 ACTIVITIES (LIVE CLASS ONLINE)

1.  READING - comprehension check story of the week.  read The California Gold Rush, pg 284

2.  Review unfamiliar words and Rate pg Model fluency rate

3.  CONVENTIIONS - complete R&W 359

4.  SPELLING - lets practice it pg 278.  Pick 10 words and create sentences.

5.  After all activities are288 student edition

PARTY - PLAY KAHOOOT.

DAY 5 ACTIVITIES (LIVE CLASS ONLINE)

1.  SPELLING - spelling test

2.  CONVENTIONS - play kahoot to practice conventions.

3.  READING ASSESSMENT - will assess reading on pg 289K Teacher Edition.   Will assess 5 students at a time.

4.  ART - guided art project.

Students will upload their daily work to EDMODO platform and will receive their daily grade.

Students will conduct the spelling test in SPELLINGCITY.COM

Students will be given points in classdojo for attending class, participation, speaking English during my class.   At the end of the week the winning HOUSE will get a special reward.
